My Luck Is Good!

by ryan on Mar.29, 2009, under Gaming, Play, World of Warcraft

Doing a bit of questing on my alt tonight. About to turn in a quest and took a bit of a detour (on a whim) to see if I could spot a very rare creature. Looks like the hunter luck was with me tonight…

Guild Tabard

by ryan on Oct.01, 2008, under Conventions, Gaming, MMORPGs, Play, World of Warcraft

As Blizzcon draws nearer, I’m happy to see that my guild tabard from the folks at Swagdog.com has arrived! I’ll wear it at the conference so that any guildies looking to find me can do so. I think this is the first custom-made t-shirt, I’ve ever ordered. It looks pretty well made.

Yeah. I’m pretty die-hard when it comes to WoW…

Don’t Panic!

by ryan on Sep.17, 2008, under Gaming, MMORPGs, Play, World of Warcraft

If you’re a raiding hunter in the World of Warcraft, this article is a very good read:

BigRedKitty: Channeling Larry King – WOW Insider:

Except for Death Kniggets, no class got more new toys than Hunters. Mages and Paladins and the other lesser classes got some presents under their WotLK-tree, but we got so many gifts, we can’t see the floor. It’s good to be us!

A test of patience

by ryan on Sep.16, 2008, under Gaming, MMORPGs, Play, World of Warcraft

KurkenlinePTR adventures…or, I should have just gone to Shadowmoon Valley…

A sign of things to come? This line took 2 hours and was to tame The Kurken, one of the exotic beasts that hunters will be able to tame in the upcoming patch. The long wait was due to a certain orc hunter who would kill The Kurken occasionally while another hunter was taming it. That probably won’t happen on PvP servers (it’s an alliance starting area), but I can see this happening on PvE servers. I believe that type of harassment is reportable on live servers, so it might not happen too often…

At any rate, two hours later, the job was done: (continue reading…)

Warcraft music is available on iTunes

Warcraft music available on iTunes – WOW Insider

Most of the albums available were included in past Collector’s Editions of Blizzard games, such as the original soundtracks of World of Warcraft and The Burning Crusade, and even the Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos soundtrack.

Here’s a link to the iTunes Store page. This is pretty neat, I think. I was not looking forward to extracting the music from the game files and filing in the information manually for each track. Also, this little morsel is there:

D3-Free-Track

Looks like I’m late to the party. The other tracks seem to have been there for a while. They’re all iTunes Plus tracks.

Denied Again!

by ryan on Sep.04, 2008, under Gaming, MMORPGs, Play, Rants, World of Warcraft

I’ve forgotten how many times I’ve seen High Warlord Naj’Entus downed, but it must have been more than a couple dozen.

Halberd of Desolation has only dropped once since I’ve been visiting the Black Temple. My mantra for now remains “maybe next week the dice roll will be favorable…” Good thing this is the first boss in the instance or I would seriously get back into arena. If I’d only have known it would take so long. It hasn’t beaten Legacy as the most annoying drop for me though. I’d have to get it after we get Sunwell on farm first.

That’s not happening for a while yet. It won’t be too long though, compared to this wait.

BRK’s Podcast Gets an “A”

by ryan on Sep.01, 2008, under Gaming, MMORPGs, Play, World of Warcraft

BigRedKitty Podcast Episode One : It was a very good first episode! I already subscribe to the feed, but I’ll try and add it in iTunes for a convenient way to get the future episodes (of which I hope for many.) He’s far too modest (I knew it! He’s got some serious skills.) I’ve dabbled in Garageband myself, and while it’s a great app, it’s not super easy to use. His video-editing skills seem to have translated to the audio side of things pretty well.

Even though lots of things in beta are “borked” at this point, I still hope I get a beta key soon. I’d like to try out other hunter specs without the pain of respec costs (a semi-hardcore raider’s gotta conserve gold as much as possible…) and I’d like to take a Deathknight for a spin as well.

I hope episode 2 comes soon. Rawr!
